Speakers Bureau

The District 16 Speakers Bureau was established as a voluntary organization to serve businesses, civic organizations, churches and the educational community. The Bureau is comprised of several multi-talented Toastmasters who have attained advanced levels of speaking and leadership skills.

Their primary focus is to present a variety of interesting, fun and educational presentations that can be tailored to the needs of your audience and vary from approximately 20-40 minutes.

Types of speeches? Motivational, inspirational, humorous, historical, technical. Speeches that address concerns of the elderly, stress, change, financial strategies, storytelling, etc. Also available are several experienced “Meeting Facilitators” “Emcees” or “Keynote Speakers” for your next business or dinner meeting.

T. A. Jones A native of Henryetta, Oklahoma, T.A. was one of nine Jones kids. He started his leadership calling by working a variety of jobs, including the military service before the age of 20. His lifelong work in public service provides humorous insight to leadership. His seven sisters provide insight to life itself. Along the way, T.A. found Toastmasters and quickly worked his way up the ranks, currently serving as District 16 Division U Governor. Paula Liotine is the Process Improvement Project Leader at American Fidelity Assurance Company (AFA). Paula is a certified Lean Facilitator, Lean Manager and a Six Sigma black belt. Paula began her process improvement journey with AFA in 2007. To date, Paula and her team have successfully facilitated 157 Lean Kaizen events and several Six Sigma projects. Paula has been instrumental in bringing the Lean process improvement methodology to four of AFAs affiliate companies and has facilitated Kaizen events in manufacturing and nonprofit settings. Michael Phillips is a life long Tulsan and a retired high school math teacher. He is a Tulsa Central High School and Oklahoma University Alumnus and a four year Navy veteran. He has been a Toastmaster for several years and has competed at the district level a number of times finishing first on two occasions. Michael would travel within a 50 mile radius of Tulsa.

  • Flying on faith -I have complete confidence in commercial aviation in this country. That confidence disappears the moment I step on a plane. This presentation is probably the funniest I have.
  • How bad is your cancer? -There was once a time when I felt people with cancer were somehow different from me. I felt sympathy for those people and I was fearful for them, but I never expected to become one of them. For some reason I believed I was immune from cancer even though there is nothing in my family medical history that would suggest such immunity really existed. It had never occurred to me that most everyone who has ever had cancer once felt that he/she was perfectly healthy, prior to the moment when he/she was face to face with a doctor who said those life changing words “You have cancer”. At that moment everything changes and that person becomes one of “Them”.

Linda Pope is a motivational speaker with a passion for helping people transform their lives. Linda was the 2012 winner of the District 16 Humorous Speech contest and loves to make people laugh. She is the fifteenth woman to be ordained in the United Methodist Church in Oklahoma and is currently serving two churches near Enid. Before becoming a pastor, Linda had her own business, Docutech, from which she wrote computer manuals for many Tulsa businesses. She is a member of Leadership Oklahoma, a graduate of Oklahoma State University (Family Relations and Child Development), and graduated magna cum laude from Phillips Theological Seminary where she completed an Masters of Divinity. Linda grew up in Stonewall, Oklahoma, and graduated from the same high school as her mother and grandmother. She is a life-long learner willing to share wisdom from the journey.
